just in-case you are indisposed Yogi Hi folks, Welcome to our 2008 Challenge - Series 8 Week 8. Place your entries in here, Please check the continuation rule. New tipster's always welcome. ENTRY CONDITIONS Please ensure that all entries are made in the following format and on one line. poster (lower case) ASX CODE (UPPER CASE) L - S - LC - SC (UPPER CASE) with shorts S in RED e.g.: poster XYZ L Please post details on the same line as per the above example. (for faster cut & paste to spreadsheet) Leave one line space before greetings, salutations and 'stock ramping'. 10:00 Deadline for all new entries. LC entries must be made before the close of the market on the preceding week. And here's the rules. 1) The competition is for thirteen weeks, starting on Monday 31 March 2008 and finishing on 30 June 2008. That is, all contestants start with an accumulated total of Zero and build it up weekly from a starting stake of $5000. Only one stock (per week) may be nominated by a competitor. 2)You must post a chart. No chart - no entry ... and briefly explain your reasons for making your choice. Captions within charts are acceptable. The purpose of the chart is to clearly illustrate the reasons for your choice. Note: For reasons of clarity Colin has requested that there should be no more than two indicators per chart. If you wish to show more indicators then please post two or more charts. 3)You must obey the Forum rules. I.e. no disrespect to other members. 4) Shorts are allowed - subject to the following guidelines:- Anyone can enter a short - but it will be the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that it's on the official ASX list. I'm not going to check it myself. If any other competitors lodge a protest that the stock is not on the list - and that proves to be the case - then instant disqualification. Follow this link for available shorts http://www.asx.com.au/data/shortsell.txt 5) The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 6) (a) Continuation: Contestants may nominate that the stock they picked for the current week will also be their pick for the following week. However, this decision must be announced and posted in the new week’s thread BEFORE 4.00PM on the Friday of the current week. So you can post on Thursday night if you wish after the new thread has been posted. (b) You may also have a fresh selection that can be posted from the Thursday night which will receive Fridays close price if posted before the close on Friday. What this means is that if you either forget or purposefully refrain to nominate that particular stock as a continuation before Friday’s close but still choose to run with it in the following week then the starting price for your entry will be the new week’s Monday’s open rather than the previous week's (Friday) close. If you wish to choose to pick one stock to last for the whole (or remainder) of the competition you may do so but you must clearly specify this before the appropriate close-off time. If you do this then you WILL need to make weekly “reminder” posts that you are continuing. have a great weekend paul (Message edited by coyotte on May 16, 2008) (Message edited by coyotte on May 16, 2008)

HGI developing into a nice Position Trade , 2 higher lows in place along with a close of 2.81 , above the prior Sup/Res level 2.80 --- targeting the prior Sup/Res at around 3.20 then hopefully a swing low above 2.80 ready for the the next up thrust .
Rally seems well supported by the LT Avgs , with "even spacing" developing between LT/ST -- the ST rally bubbles seem to be over allowing for a steady run up.
IF it runs from here to 3.18/3.20 and then the next swing low can stay above the high at 2.85 , then it would indicate a powerful move up was coming or clear 3.20 with a low above 3.20 , then even better . cheers

Jimmyswell WVL L
After 15 minutes of webrusal, I can't claim to be an expert on Vanadium, but here's some factoids. Euroz Securities (an underwriter of WVL's float in 2007 and holder of a continuing interest in WVL) issued an upbeat report on 24 April. In it, they said: "The FerroVanadium price has consolidated since the run early in 2008 when it peaked at US$90/kg, now quoted at roughly US$60/kg of contained V. This remains well above the long run price that we have assumed of US$40/kg, and the 2007 average of ~US$35/kg." The spot price chart of FerroVanadium looks like this: Rolling power blackouts in Africa (another source of Vanadium) have lead to scarcity and uncertainty in world supply - making WVL attractive, in a stable place like Aust. Collectively, is this enough to explain the strong share price climb over the past 2 weeks? Let's hope so. Euroz is predicting a target price of $3.50 when WVL's plant comes on line late in 2008. But of course they would say that wouldn't they?

This one's had a strong end to the week having recently announced promising gold bearing anomalies in their exploration area. Should continue to do well if the POG recovers from its recent correction IMO. Good luck to all and thanks Paul et al for all the work. Phil

Captain Chaza MUM LC Chart as promised
I think Friday was the Last day to ACCUMULATE but I could be wrong This albeit a rare event Salute and Gods' speed to all Brave souls this week Fortunately for all of us contenders those Gutless wonders never seem to make a pick and as such there is no such thing as "A Lucky Break" we have to contend with This little regatta is SIMPLY Skill VS Skill and the courage necessary nowadays to enter such a race As I said many times before "COURAGE IS NOT GIVEN TO EVERYONE" Since there is NO SUCH THING as skill in FA with market timing we can only go down the path of TA IMHO
