Hi All I need your help again. I have been trying to set the stock screener to find stocks that close near or on the lower band of the Bollinger Bands without much success. Can anyone help me. The chart shows you what I am trying to find. Msparks was a great help to me with the MACD problem I had, maybe you have some ideas about one. Thanks Jim

You mean like these Jimm Like price is near the bottom of a 2 standard deviation 20 day bollinger band.
i would prefer to look for these but each to their own
What you need to do is find the place within a timeframe (eg 20 day)and bollinger band deviation (eg 2 standard deviations) that is the most likely place within the bands that prices are likely to go up. It may be when the price crosses thru the centre line of the bands after reversing from touching the bottom of the bands. Or it may be as you say, when price is at the bottom of a 2 standard deviation channel within the last 20 days. Put in 10 and -10 to the 20 day bb band and see what you get. Put in 250 and nothing in max, and see what you get. Put in -200 and nothing, see what you get, this will be below the bottom band. You can select stocks with the price anywhere, within the bands by entering different combinations like say -50 and -10 will be just below the centre line. I doubt many people understand how good the search function really is.
Now what else do you need to know Jimm to make a million I expect a hot tip for all this work OK.

Thanks MS. I greatly appreciate your help.I now understand the input values for the B Bands screener.I was reading an article about B Bands and I just wanted to test a couple of things that were mentioned. I agree I dont think many people appreciate how good this stock screener can be.I have been using IC for some time but never bothered until recently to use it. I think for me anyway it is difficult to understand exactly what values need to be entered to get the required result, maybe a more comprehensive online manual could be implemented. As for making a million.John Candy said in one of his movies."I'm still a million bucks short of being a millionaire".Thats me to! Thanks again MS Jim
