Ahoy Brave and Loyal crew The Captain is truly blessed having such an experienced, fit and well trained crew onboard the great ship "Incredulous" What another great week we had and many thanks to all I am exhausted as you all must be I have updated the trophy cabinet and logbook for your perusal and critique Once again we opened up a nice gap on the ALL ORDS against our plotted North Easterly course and approximate sailing speed of 1% /week "compounding" Captain Chaza
PS We must chat later as I am really pooped When the going gets tough the tough gets going. However ,I am really pooped Good nite all Ahoy Captain Seahound I /we need some of your smooth talking words and sea-smarts to relax our brains otherwise I will feed the crew on my favourite Musicians "Eagles" "Simply Red" "Pet shop Boys" and even my all time old favourites "Ray Smith" and "Jackie Wilson" The crew has done really well this week and I feel a few words from a real Poet of the high seas would be invigorating to a few burnt out salty souls as we try and regroup for another week on the merciless ASX Heaven help her this time as we on the great ship "Incredulous" never make the same mistake 6 times in a row

Ahoy crew We will be not making many if any sail shifting as I am quite happy with our cracking pace and may adjust only a few sails later tomorrow HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK on the great Ship "Incredulous" Let's say it's 1.AM. and you're at the helm in the middle watch (alone of course) after an unusually hard days sailing. You're really tired, sometimes upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. We are only about five miles from the land and a doctor Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. ( Even if we had a doctor onboard "The Incredulous") he would probably be on Mary J or asleep, from my little experience of that type of landlubber in the disciplines of University What can you do? You've been trained in CPR as a pre-requisite on joining the crewlist on the great ship "Incredulous" but the guy that taught the course neglected to tell you how to perform it on yourself (as they always do.) Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack; this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person whose heart stops beating properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, sailors can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough. The cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. And a cough must be repeated about every 2 seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack sailors can get to a hospital. Tell as many other sailors as possible about this, it could save their lives! From Health Cares, Rochester General Hospital via Chapter 240s newsletter AND THE BEAT GOES ON ... (reprint from The Mended Hearts, Inc. publication, Heart Is the Captain a Good Captain? He is always thinking of the well-being safety and comfort of the crew Captain Chaza
PS Julie I once asked a great businessman on land how he stopped the loss of shoplifting in all his retail shops He answered " You just gotta sell more than they pinch" Hence the 100% markups plus overheads and staff I am working on the stops but until then we will just go as fast as we can and make decisions ONE DAY at a TIME as we get a feel for things and throw the emotional and irrational intra-day orders overboard and leave it to those swashbuckling novice sea-cadets (I love you in your wet weather gear and I don't think Gravity has been so unkind as you say) I am still of the opinion that more money is lost on stop losses than gained IF !!!!you have the time to take regular sightings at least once a day IF!!! you have the sailing season right then when ever in doubt hold and drag a sail if you must but don't cut her lose too early EG SLX

Ahoy Captain, I knew I could count on you to come up with some form of Self Survival technique, it's akin to popping off to make a quick cuppa when my heart starts to quickly race when the waves get bigger and the deck gets slippery. Of course your advice is more useful mine is more of a calming technique! I didn't hold Slx and I'm sure if I had of I would have needed your cpr, how does one stay on after hitting an iceberg? My first instinct would have been to abandon ship regardless of the weather. So much to learn, so much to do.. Julles

PS She certainly is a fine looking ocean going craft to me PPS Can anyone see if that smooth talking Captain Seahound is in front of us or to the west? Lets hope he and his crew are safe anyway and having lots of fun

Ahoy braveheart Julie A few seamanship hints No two ships ever behave the same in the same seas and weather conditions Agree? No single stop loss is the same at all times for all craft So where are you ? Nowhere! No sea and weather conditions are ever exactly the same that has gone before or will be so in the future Agree? So now where are you? I hope that helps? I'm sure it will after a lot of thought!!! This is the greatest realization we all must face if we wish to go a sailing on the sea or any ocean of the Global Exchange What a Challenge! and What great fun it is when you are right more than 53%of the time (allowing for a few running costs) Women were never allowed on great ships as it has been documented many times that they were unlucky and always caused trouble and unrest in some members of the crew and even a Captain or two have been noted in various logs I love women onboard the great ship "Incredulous" and honestly believe they make for better cooks Our own silly old Emperor who unfortunately for all of us is surrounded by vestal virgins and a dominating wife who can't cook is always searching for a South-east passage and would probably prefer a SSE course just to avoid them as they only want the riches to the North He probably only eats Italian cuisine and has probably never even had a burger and chips What chance does the Roman Empire have of surviving if the Emperor is always looking for something to go South every week to escape from all those women I told him months ago about the sea-change I told him It was a lot harder to find Southerly passages in these times from where we are in the Southern oceans on the ASX WHO on earth would want to go any further South than absolutely necessary? Believe me I have been there and it is not a nice place to be, even for a short visit It is not so much as the cold and loneliness but the realization you may not ever get back to the warmer latitudes and the warm friendships made on land or the thrill one gets just to wave at a another ship in the distance Sea-gal Julie, where do you see these icebergs ??? re GUD and only GUD in these times Set your safety-line at 9 EMA and wait for a close below In the meantime I will try and work on a better outcome? IGNORE Intra day hysterics as they are usually just women and kids playing around (Or men acting like boys) Sometimes it may even be a typo that you are working out all your figures on to make a life threatening decision The Captain has always said "Sleep on it overnite in order to study her charts and personality (A week-end when time suits is even better) However most decisions need to be by dawn or those early sea-eagles will eat your heart out RE ALU You are only guilty of paying a little too much The fact is you have it and I love it It seems to me to be forming a bullish 3 black crow setup (5 day Pattern in quick time) Ideally I would like it to go down tomorrow to form the third black sea- eagle It would also give me the evening to sleep and ponder What sail we should lower? Which mast to hoist it on and all those "Captain- like decisions" which would only bore you but as Captain I do make them 5 mornings a week You are so lucky you are already there and I have to work out all the sail shifting we must do In the end if I am not quick I may have to pay a little more than you In the end if she is a really good ride no-one will remember the price paid Agree? RE little sail board sheets like YAM AZR FDR SKG AVN Well, the Captain as the Naval Architect on the great ship "Incredulous" did not allow for such small gizmos for want of a better name at this stage when designing such a comfortable vessel If the crew agree I will put the ship into dry dock overnight and we may fly a purple gizmo sail (Max 4 ei 1 per mast) $2500 + 30 Brkg BUT what do we lower??? I am sure these little Gizmo sails will not rock the boat too much ?? OR is that wishful thinking again? Captain Chaza
The problem as I see it sailing these little gizmos is that we could become the total market for a day even with only a few of us participating I have noticed the turnovers can be high but the values can be a little on the poor side I feel it is a little dangerous as we could end up with a company we don't really want WE have no CEO in place that can live and who even wishes to live on land Anyway what do you think? Always remember it is not the sail but the Sailor In Ocean racing it is the one who makes the least mistakes that often wins

Ahoy Capitan Your comments on ALU gives relief to Julles.I notice she has been quiet on her purchase perhaps a feeling of regret. She ought not despair. One cannot pick the bottom for entry or top to exit.I was lucky to be able to get in on a day when the Nasdaz was down 50 points. Notice your comments of 2 crows. A crow is regarded as a sinster bird by the Japanese and to be view with superstition in Japanese forklore. An additional down day could also be view as the rising 3 method, a bullish indicator. With the DOW up 130 points on friday we may not see a down day for ALU rather it may reverse the trend as the bears have not been able to pierce the top of the dominating white candle formed on wednesday let alone the midpoint.ALU may continue its upwards trend. Having said that notice two fund managers have reduced the holdings on this share just when the trend change leaving opportunity for a value fund manager to enter. This share has exited the ASX 300 thus out of indexing currently but I see it as an opportunity for others to enter at a price not seen for a long time. Good on you captain for sharing your thoughts with us and giving Julles a vote of confidence. I am sure she wont feel so lonely now with the support of the captain and his crews. Peterloh

Hi Captain & Perterloh, Yes I tend to go a little quite on a stock once it's purchased, unless of course it decides to speed sale with a Northerly wind. I appreciate your thoughtful comments and it has made me feel a little better as I actually bought ALU using Weinsteins method. (My first attempt at seeing a stage one! We hope!) When Spider informed me that I could have waited a little longer I felt a little let down with myself as I thought at the time that I'd done so well with my lookout! I'm glad you both all like it, as I have noticed that the 30 day wma is now looking more attractive although on light volume. That should make first Mate Spider happy Julles

Yo julles, first mate spids on deck. Your post above pushed me to put finger tips to keys. I discussed this point with williamat the other night at dinner. I think the Captain might agree with this one also. It concerns the problem of "giving an opinion" on a share (after being asked). Bill said that he had recently been asked for an opinion by a friend. He found that he wanted to be as meticulous as possible in what he passed on. I also find that I tend to be a little more conservative than I am with my own decisions to trade. The reasons are obvious, you do not want to be giving false hope. If my opinion was that waiting a little while longer for a few more of the ducks to line up seemed a little off putting, it was because I wanted you to have the maximum chance to succeed. On another thread I was discussing MRL which experienced a false breakout a few months ago. It appears to be breaking out now with more positive indications. I didn't enter the trade a few months back (even though I KNOW this one will go eventually, it's too good a business to be ignored forever). When someone asks for an opinion on a share you know that they are positive toward that share, or they would not have brought it up. So you do not want to magnify their interest in that share without a series of VERY good reasons. Sometimes waiting for a little while until the ducks line up can save you a lot of frustration, and if you have limited capital, you want it to be employed on "A" trades only. So, if spider appears to be looking for the negatives, he has a good reason, he wants you to succeed. It would not be much fun on this ship without her loyal crew. The more success we have, the longer we get to sail together. spider.

Well I hope you know that I appreciate your comments Spider and I'm very happy that you pointed out where I could have waited for all the ducks to line up. I shall do so next time as I'd much rather enter a stock and have it sail in a northerly direction, I do so like the colour green Many thanks! Regarding Black Crows, I thought this indicated bearish-nish on a stock?

Hi Julles Pay heed to first mate spider, he is right. I do not want your spirit dampens as you have already bought it, thus my encouragement.Trading is a game of probability and returns. For me the more information I have to make a decision the better my success rate is.Also if you can anticipate before hand and taking the risk and set a stop loss the higher your returns are to be. If you have launched on Wednesday when the dominating white candle was being composed and acted on it your entry price would have been max 47c, that is the reason sighting is important. It is also an advantage and in spider's favourite term "playing with someone else's money." On the other hand if your capital is limited it is better to take a cautious course. I like your spirit. It is people like you that will discover new frontiers. Currently some fund managers are offloading as they are tracking the index.Others are coming in if they think there is value. I notice this share has come down from a high of $6.50. The company is also paying a dividend which is a good sign. The sign is looking more positive and management seems to be optimistic. The company is also undergoing a buy back which will reduce the number of shares as management feels the shares is very undervalue. In candlestick charting, a dominating white candle is very bullish because the upwards push in price is accompanied by volume. If subsequent candles mainly black do not pierce the top of the dominating white candle or its mid point, the trend is still regarded as upwards.Understanding candlestick charting will assist you in your trading decisions. Cheers Peterloh

Ahoy Braveheart Julie Your burger and chips are now outstouding Hold on tight to your PRR VRE You are indeed a very able seaman (sea-gal) Your little VRE gave me a dose of sailors shock when it went to 0.027 but now it is all forgotten Captain Chaza
Well said 1st Mate spids That is exactly why you are the masters mate Your attention to detail and safety is legendary The Captain merely tries to steer a NE course but it seems we have been caught up in a NNE current With a great cook, naval officers of the calibre of Officer Lafee and Officer Peteroh Able seamen Wadda and Dollars, the many casual crewhands we need to hoist all these sails, too many to mention in this signal and together with a susieq as our cheer squad learder on the spectator fleet how could we lose?
