Address reposted:

The place is called "TAMANI", and we are upstairs. We will start at about 6:30.

The address is 156 Toorak Rd, it's on the left heading towards the city, and opposite Darling St (which has off street parking).
The outbound side of Toorak Rd is a clearway until 6:30, so if you time your arrival, there should be heaps of on street parking.

Hi Guys,

At the last meeting at RMIT, UTurn put forward the idea of getting Bill Wormald (author of Trends & Tripwires) to present to us. Now as he lives in perth we would all have to chip in for his plane ticket. I guess it would cost approx. $20 each to get him over here.

I would love gauge the the support for this idea. I personally, would love to see how the whole trend tracker systems works from the guy who invented it. Let me know what you all think.

Cheers
LaFeeVerte.

Hi Laffe,

Excerpt from Bill Wormald's email 14 May 03:

I look forward to meeting some of you at Murdoch this evening.
Please make contact if you would like me to meet with your group (WA initially).

I could happen?
Cheers ..... uturn

Lafee

Forgive me, but is this not Bill's business? Then his plane ticket is a business related expense, probably under sales promotion and marketing and does not he stand to gain from any purchase of the trend tracker that might eventuate as a result of his attendance at our meeting?

This is not a comment on the worthiness or usefulness of the trendtracker as a TA tool nor a comment on his book which I havent as yet read, but I cannot see why the group should subsidise a marketing presentation.

Any comments from others welcome

Cheers

Susieq

LaFee,

I'm inclined to agree with Susieq. He should have sufficient faith in his product and book to generate sufficient sales to more than cover the cost of his flight.

Cheers, Mosaic

Hi Lafee,

Seriously,
if we were to invite Bill to Melbourne, we should consider that he is a very busy man and may also have family commitments.
At the very least, I think we should offer to pay his airfares(s) and accommodation.

From personal experience, I can assure you that Bill is a very genuine and amiable fellow.
(definitely not a 'snake oil salesman')

I am very grateful for his tuition, ongoing support and interaction.

The Trend Tracker plays a pivotal role in my trading strategy.
What price can you put on knowledge, particularly if it gives you an edge in the market?

Cheers ..... uturn

Hi Guys

Personally I am happy subsidizing his airfare etc. But it is the groups consensus that counts. We could approach Bill and see what he says. Maybe he is coming to Melbourne in the near future anyway??

Perhaps Uturn could have a chat with Bill and find out how keen he is. He may offer to pay his own way. We will not know unless we ask.

Remember we can fit 70 people in the room easily. If we could get a large number to attend the cost would be minimal.

Cheers
LaFeeVerte.

Bill Wormald could be planning (or be prepared) to travel East,on a promo tour, who knows? ask him what was in his mind when suggesting that groups interested might contact him.
U-turn's appraisal of him indicates He'd not fall to that parasitic outfit 'Breakout' but if he did the price would be up to $60.
If he decided that he should come East and do Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane then no doubt groups in each city would support him, which to my thinking indicates that if each group went about it positively, a fee of $20. to hear him would well cover over 50% of his expenses and each group could have exclusivity if they wished.
We get it economically, He gets assured adequate audience and possibly some press coverage. WHY NOT?. Interstaters, c'mon take another lead from MELBOURNE. Bill.
