DOW still stuck below 12000. Futures are starting to tank again in the after hour trading. Add BNB to the watch list, way oversold yesterday (I think).

Does this whole thing look unconvincing to anyone else, massive rate cuts and the dow still doesn't make it into the green? I'm certainly hoping the rally lasts, i need a big run as others do but i'm still worried

chingas I don't really even see it as a rally. The XJO went down yesterday by 394 today so far its up 254 a net loss of 140 over 2 days in whats been a 3 mth down turn so far. I agree with you its unconvincing.

Australian Core Inflation Rate Is Fastest in 16 Years (Update3) By Jacob Greber More Photos/Details Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Australian core inflation accelerated to a 16-year high, adding to pressure on the central bank to increase interest rates even as the U.S. slashes borrowing costs to avoid a recession. The Reserve Bank of Australia's measure of underlying inflation, which excludes the largest price fluctuations, surged 3.8 percent in the fourth quarter from a year earlier. The headline consumer price index rose 0.9 percent from the third quarter and 3 percent in the year, a report in Sydney showed today. Faster inflation may not be enough to convince central bank Governor Glenn Stevens to raise borrowing costs next month after stock markets tumbled around the world, prompting the U.S. Federal Reserve to cut its benchmark rate in the first emergency move since 2001. Stevens increased interest rates to an 11-year high in November after higher food, gasoline and wage costs pushed consumer-price gains above the bank's target range. ..cut.." source: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601080&sid=aE3FUJ_QXmJE&refer=news

I'm paralysed with fear Aussie. A great opportunity for shorting the FTSE at the off but I just couldn't press the button. That would have been an easy 50 points to start the day! It's times like this I think it best to just sit out until things calm down. And that's what I'm going to do. lol. Now where's that hoover? (day off work today) lolol.

Yes, Jax. Anything could happen now. A rise up to the FED date with a hope of another cut or selling on any rally? I see selling on a rally. A big spike up on the FTSE but a big drop back. Should have made my points on the week with that one. Damn. lol. It's sitting on my hands time for now, until things become clearer.
