Well done Jax - lend me $10. lolol.
That intervention by the FED was what we all wanted but be very careful because they're making these announcements at vital moments i.e just when everything is about to go under. We were at that point again yesterday. Heavy falls for over a week (bar one day) and it was as close as can be to capitulation.
I've got my crystal balls out again and here's my prediction...
It's only going to be a temporary lift for the markets before we start the downward journey again, only when it starts again it's going to be harder and faster. The FED is running out of ammo fast now and the rate cuts do nothing apart from a day or two lift of the market and the FED intervention will be seen for what it is very quickly. Nothing will change. The banks are not functioning properly and it'll be a while before they can. We're at the beginning of the bear market and it'll go on well after the recession has finished, even though, hopefully, it'll be a short one. I think we're going to hit new lows sometime within 2 weeks of the FED decision.
Right. I've put my crystal balls away now so I've got my plan set out for me. lolol.

Yes, that's what I'm hoping for as well Chris so that I can get out of my FTSE longs but it was a bit ominous overnight when all the Asian markets (and Aus) drifted well down off their highs. Again, I don't think anyone's being tricked by this and it looked very much to me that people are jumping out on the rallies, which is what I'd be doing. I said yesterday that I'd never short at these levels but I've taken out a Dow short last night and a FTSE short this morning as a hedge against my longs.

10 bucks its all yours mate ,lol.yep im takeing my free shot with mbl and will not see anymore untill next fri so 6 days of pain at worst lol.i feel the dow will be flat tonight and green tmr night . i can live with that cant see big gains tonight.

I hope all banks do well because I've got some. lololol. Just think there's going to be a lot of pain before it gets better. I think what we're seeing now is a correction to the upside before a continuation of the down trend. Desperation to get these banks moving is going to take more that money being pumped in for the banks to lend against. It's what they have to do, there's no doubt about that but banks and everyone else rely on the consumer and if the consumer has had enough and is up to his neck in debt, can't buy things, can't get credit, losing their houses in record numbers, losing their jobs at an increasing rate etc, etc then there's only one way this is all going. Remember, in last weeks testomony by Ben, he said things are going to get worse! Seems to have been forgotten already by the press and everyone else. lolol

I think I may have been tempted to sell all on open and take a profit but thats just how I trade when I do news trades.

Yes I know I missed out on this one left it to you.
I have done some nice news plays in the past though FDL was one I buy on good news then sell on open the next day.
I sometimes miss out on some extra up movement but the majority of them move down after an initial jump.
