First mate spids on deck.
I've been staying at a mates place for the past couple of days.
We are always made to feel very welcome.
My mate has an excellent family, and it is always a pleasure to stay there.

He lives in an upmarket part of Melbourne, but more importantly, he has a tram line going past his house.

Spider loves trams, especially old ones.

Melbourne and trams just go together.

When I was a spiderling my mum would take me into the 'big smoke' for a day out, on a tram.

The 'Paris end' of Collin St, Coles caf', Myer's windows.

I traveled to primary school and high school on trams.
Mrs spider would travel on the same trams to and from high school (we lived about a half a Km apart, went to primary school together, but never met until we were adults).

Mrs spider went to an all girls school.
They wore those excellent uniforms!

A tram packed with adolescent boys and girls, and we were mostly too frightened to talk to each other!

Another tram memory is of being at my grandma's place on Christmas day.
She lived at the Brunswick St Oval end of Brunswick St in Fitzroy.
The trams would rumble by outside her house.

Of a night time that sound still reminds me of being with cousins on Christmas day.

Melbourne trams, my mum used to say, are a bit like girls, if you miss one there will be another one along in a few minutes!

Wise person my mum.

That saying also applies to shares, and trading.

Ahoy brave and loyal crew

She's turning around!

I have updated the Logs as at Dusk Friday 28th
November 2003 (0ur WEEK #29) on our Long Term sea voyage sailing NE "Safely" and as fast as we can
ordscover
Well done great crew but we only lost $856 off the top ($475k) this week and drifted timelessly
She certainly has been merciless
The All Ords drifted North 20 points
We were cheated again at the close on Friday and God help the All Ord's if we ever get a fair break
The Small Ords did well against the leaders and led again
Why do they call them the "leaders" anyway when the truth be known they are "followers"
Maybe it's just another verb used by the spin doctors to sell more product
Gee whiz! we were very lucky to LOWER all those banks at the top and told them to jump with their tax free carrots
A bean-couter mate of mine told me that at that time the Banks were 1/2 the riggings and set up of an average fine ocean-going vessel and now only represents 1/4
I wish I knew what he meant?
I think he meant designing a craft with a diverse set of sails and have a bet on every Yacht in every yacht race does not always work?

I have always known that foolish old sailors tale of safety at sea and am very pleased to have lowered all the banks when we did

We are still waiting for a sign of clear passage to sail the 1 0r 2 Or 3 sectors and remind the crew "Patience is golden and very boring"

Looks like we will have to give this great ship a really good look over once again and turn her around this week once and for all

Salute and Bon Appetit my fearless crew

Welcome back onboard Ist Officer Spids
The NTC looks great but no turnover at all?
It could mean there are no sellers and are as rare as ducks in these tricky seas

Ahoy brave and loyal crew

She is certainly a fine looking ocean-going type this morning
dawn
Sometimes the seas can be very kind to sailors as those weak hearted landlubbers panic sell
Volumes drop and prices become oversold
The quick and sea-ready crews will hoist 2nd sails given half a chance

All hands on deck
At dawn on the open
Lets get some speed up

LOWER the blue RIC
HOIST the #2 red INT
HOIST the #2 red QUR
HOIST the #2 red GMK

LOWER the Green AVT
HOIST the #2 red GBL
HOIST the #2 red TAA

LOWER the green OEC
HOIST the #2 red MDM
HOIST the #2 red BAR

Gosh it's quite in here... ! Hope you get a laugh out of this one.. :-)

A nun, really needing to go to the bathroom, walked into a neighborhood
pub.

The place was hopping with music and dancing but every once in a while the lights would turn off. Each time after the lights would go out the
place would erupt into cheers.
However, when the revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent.

She walked up to the bartender, and asked, "May I please use the restroom?"

The bartender replied, "I really don't think you should."

"Why not?" the nun asked.

"Well, there is a statue of a naked man in there," he said, "and his most private part is covered only by a fig leaf."

"Nonsense," said the nun, "I'll just look the other way."

So the bartender showed the nun the door at the top of the stairs, and she proceeded to the restroom. After a few minutes, she came back out,
and the whole place was hopping with music and dancing again.

However, they did stop just long enough to give the nun a loud round of applause.

She went to the bartender and said, "Sir, I don't understand. Why did they applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?"

"Well, now they know you're one of us," said the bartender, "would you like a drink?"

"But, I still don't understand," said the puzzled nun.

"You see," laughed the bartender, "every time the fig leaf is lifted on the statue, the lights go out in the whole place.

"Now, how about that drink?"

Ahoy Captain and crew

If you get time captain thought CUL would be worth your time, good volume today, broke monthly resistance, stochastics are all starting to turn up, broke downward trend lines a few days ago.

Thought it would be worth a look.
Regards
Stampy
The cabin boy

Ahoy brave and loyal crew

Sorry crew but I have been busy chasing the rats bugs and gremlins out of the Cafe

Just got in time for a good close??
What's happening?
Gee we were robbed on the open of TAA today
Sometimes ya get good opens and other times ya don't
It always averages out in the end

Any ideas on the PBT
Can we hold on any longer in these fickle winds?
We are showing 35% in 6 days on green sail!
Helps a lot in these choppy seas

capn
Good laugh Braveheart

Ahoy Captain, pbt has hit the top of the bollinger so it's iffy but the call of course is up to you.

That's about the best I can do as I haven't mastered the lowering ropes yet :-)

Ahoy Braveheart

What are they doing over there in those by-gone waters
Do they think sailing is easy?
Do they they think they can set a Star-board tack and go around the world NE
Do they think they should set a Port-side tack ?
Tell them
If you throw a bottle overboard it has been known that it can go all the way around the world in the long term
What is not known is "how many were lost "

As we all seasoned campaigners and men of the sea know very well
The #1 lesson in sailing is to sail "The Full Circle"

I have met landlubbers who get sea-sick in a bath They just refuse to get their T shirts wet and try
They select from the 20/50 leaders(of the day) in complete secrecy and in less time that it takes to order a soup or fish of the day
No wonder their ships get pooped more often than not

Salute and Bon Appetit
capn
Off to my favourite Scottish restaurant now (research)
Gee they make great fries
We kill them on burgers but their chips are really good

Ahoy brave and loyal crew

It's going to be very hard to go anyway today without any wind
Take a well earned rest today and hold course
Hopefully the SMY and a few of our smaller storm sails will steady the ship from drifting South

Bon voyage and God's speed

Ahoy Cabin-boy Stampie
Your CUL is one day late for my liking
If you find yourself late you often get punished with a bad open
Try not to hesitate so much in the future
Here's a little bonus for you trying
cabinboy
Ahoy Braveheart could you please
hold on tight to your RED for the whole day?
