I've been playing with the idea of forming a group of like-minded Weinstein investors. This post is aimed to get an idea of how many people would be interested in participating on a regular basis to this forum/group. The group would be open to: -- Those interested in learning more about Weinstein's principles -- Those already trading using Weinstein methods Topics of discussion within the group/forum: -- Stocks in stage 1, 2, 3, 4 -- Sector analysis -- Traders - short term trading (ie trade within stage 2's...) -- Investors - long term trading (ie buy on break outs...) -- Trade opportunities - alert of breakouts, continuation buying opportunities, short opportunities, stocks to watch etc etc It would be hoped that we could compile some kind of log book of transactions so we could get a clear idea of how profitable Weinstein trading can be. A lot of discussion has been done already, but it would be great if we could isolate all the loose posts to one place. So, Weinstein fans if your interested please respond to this message. Feel free to: -- Add any suggestions -- Your opinion on how things should run -- What side of things you would be interested in -- What things you would be interested in handling -- Your trading style (long/short term, level of experience both in investing and Weinstein.....) Thanks for now.

Hi New2 I am willing to throw the full weight of the Imperial Treasury behind your proposal! Presumably you are referring to a Group of IC members? I am interested in comparing the performance of each individually selected group of stocks against the selections of other individuals. You could give each person a paper trade figure to play with. I would be happy with $1,000,000 Those individuals whose selections do best could then be asked to share their selection, entry and exit methods ... if they would be willing to do so. However you may need to check how that can be done without it being investment advice I am willing to assist with statistics of performance My trading style is 50% very short term 50% very long term. Weinstein experience ... only what I've learned here Claudius

Count me in. Happy to devote time to this project. One thing I find slightly difficult using IC, is when I have found my stage II candidate, Weinstein, seems to want the sector to be performing well. And then the broader market. I find it difficult to find what sector etc.. a particular stock is in chart the stock vs the sector vs the overall market. Should we start with sectors, then pick out stocks from then on? Kai

new2waix would like to join the group. I have been sitting on the sideline for a long time with more questions than answers. Also have jumped in the quagmire (asx) some times, not without getting burnt, but always willing to learn. Don't have a large stash. I have been mostly paper trading but, I find unless you place your cash in, the paper trades do not seem to teach you as much as losing real hard earned money. Which I hope is the object here ........how not to lose it !

New2waix, I am very interested in participating in this group. Although still relatively new to it all myself, i'm learning very quickly. Am flying through the books as fast as eyes will read them. And then theres the putting it all into practice! A group such as this would be more than welcome, especially seeing we are all on the same journey. If you wanted to arrange a 'get together' meeting, I am willing to make any practical arrangements and be meeting (social??!!) co-ordinator. Missy

Thanks to the responses to date! Nice to see some willing participants! -------- Just a list of further queries, comments etc to think about: 1) Do we need more numbers? Many hands make light work? Or do too many cooks spoil the broth? 2) Do we need more experienced traders/investors to act as mentors and provide guidance to us beginners? Do we need an experienced captain to sail this boat? 3) Do we limit ourselves to following the ways of Weinstein or do we open our group to other methods? To elaborate, the purpose I read Weinstein's book was because I wanted a simple trading system. Maybe we should not limit this group to Weinstein traders, but to all those people who trade with simple but profitable systems? 4) I don't believe their to be any concern over legal ramifications as long as we abide by the terms of conditions of this website. Nevertheless it will be worth consulting with Colin in regard to this matter. Maybe I should re-read the terms and conditions. 5) Pretend group portfolio. Ideally I'd like to limit our initial trades to a paper portfolio of $100,000. Ten (10) positions at $10,000 each. Limit our approach to ASX100 stocks. We can commence this practice run once we gauge whether or not we have sufficient numbers. We can also measure how successful we are as a group. ------- In the interim, feel free to post comments etc to this thread. n2w

Hey New 2 A lot of those are my ideas! Please make sure your Emperor receives a paper royalty from the paper profits Claudius (notes that otherwise the cats don't get fed ... and you know what that means )

Sorry, I should credit Claudius with many (or all) of those ideas. I was simply rehashing previous suggestions and some further thoughts in regard to the group. It will be a pleasure to have you part of the team Claudius. Your extensive knowledge will be greatly beneficial! Again, thank you to everyone who has shown an interest so far. I hope to get something organised by next week but unfortunately I have some new years resolution to fulfil by the end of this month.

This is my first post - I've traded a bit - with mixed results and would like a chance to participate/help if I can in your new group. I'm a Weinstein fan and the generosity of forum members when they share their hard won insights is much appreciated. Thank you.

I have given it some thought and think our course of action from here should be as follows: 1) Find a mentor 2) Sign up a few more interested parties So far the following have raised their willing hands: new2waix i_claudius esyarra squiresk myklan fox_terrier twintrends missy slic 3) Develop the groups trading system As mentioned earlier, I think we should spend some time developing a trading system that incorporates Weinstein but also includes other simple indicators. When I say system, I refer to a set of guidelines, rules and criteria to follow before buying/selling a stock. Feel free to make comments. I have just listed some of the items of analysis that I have found easy to interpret. Group's Trading System - (KISS Trading Constitution) Before making a trade, consult the KISS indicators: -- Sector Analysis (XHJ....) -- Market Analysis (XAO....) -- Stage Analysis (Stage 1, 2, 3, 4) -- Moving Averages (30 Week WMA, Daily EMA's) -- Moving Average Crossovers -- MACD -- Twiggs -- Volume

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I'd love to get involved. I need to buy the book on Weinstein and do some more reading. Not sure how much I can help as I was overcome by the rate the previous Weinstein project screamed ahead. I am now using TMF, CMF, MACD, Volume, daily EMAs and 30 WK WMA as indicators before making most trades (and these are the successful ones!). As I am trying to trade with the trend (Weinstein Stage 2), I think this will suit me well. regards Shawky
