Ahoy all, I have been thinking very seriously of going AWOL, and joining you all for The Captain's Dinner after all. I even got as far as checking the flights from Newcastle and found that I could arrive in time to join Julles in a shower at the airport!! Alas, there are too many obstacles (including the cost of the airfares), and too many people that would notice my absence. It has been a privilege sailing with CC, and all his fine crew. Just as Spider (I think it was) said, this voyage has been a pivotal experience and a key part of my induction into TA. It has helped me to start to evolve my own trading style and management. I am very grateful to you all, and the IC forum. Maybe sometime next year I might get a chance to venture south. I would love to meet as many of you as I can. My best wishes for a fantastic night tomorrow, and a safe and peaceful festive season. fond regards Starb'd

Starb'd, I would have thought Port Stephens would be a good place to leave coming up to School holidays/Christmas? It's hard enough getting a carpark on a normal day let alone during holidays. Please save me a carspace, as I'll be a Nelson Bay for a couple of hours tomorrow. All the best, 12th Man PS - going by all reports, I'll need to bring the drinks trolley for the warm one tomorrow

starboard_tack I've just hooked up to this section of the Forum - didn't even know it existed. I notice you are not far south of me - I think you are my probably my nearest IC neighbour - unless someone else lives closer to Port Macquarie than Port Stephens. I too hope to venture south one day to meet some of the Victorian and Sydney IC participants - maybe the new year will present an opportunity.

12th Man, Good luck finding a car space! If you find one make sure you don't get booked - they have introduced parking fees on the waterfront. We try to batten down the hatches and venture out as little as possible during the Hols - done most of the shopping before the onslaught. We have even just taken delivery of a hot spa for my aches and pains - the day after it arrived and was up to temperature we had heatwave 35 degrees - and no sea-breeze!! Bundy and 12th Man, Maybe we should start a "Port" traders group?? Maybe we should convince the Incredulous crew to come up here to meet. Then we can show them some real sailing waters!! Starb'd

Gosh Starboard, You mean I miss out on sharing a shower with you! Feelin slightly cheeky, revvin up for tomorrow nights party... Elizabeth why don't you try to go Awol and make it to the Captains table? I know you'd be most welcome. Think about it as there's probably still time to catch a plane and your a lot closer than moi', something to think about. Wish you could come Starboard as this is my second trip to Melbourne this year and I know I won't be allowed to make another until next Christmas at the earliest, that is of course if things don't change and maybe they will. Glad to hear you have tried and remember sometimes there is a way... the more the merrier and you only have one life to live after all? Ok, I'll see some and hopefully most of you tomorrow night as you too have helped me in more ways than you know. I'll be back in the Galley Monday so if you need anything, anything at all just make sure you clean up after yourselves. And don't do anything I wouldn't do, hmmm now that could be a worrisome statement. Bonvoyage, Adiois, Sionara and of course love to all Julles
***MERRY CHRISTMAS*** Everyone, Ho Ho Ho !!!

Ahoy Great Emperor U Claudius and all that could not attend this great Starry night because of other commitments or just simply lacked the necessary courage that is not given to all It was very hard to put a face to the great legends of the Incredulous crew I dressed up as a landlubber and played "Spot the Captain" It took SusieQ and the rest of the crew an hour to work it out The Captain was very touched in an emotional sence by the warmth and the commradary you CAN only find at sea I have always said "You can live with landlubbers for years without learning a thing about them But it only takes a few weeks at sea to find out everything" The personalities and character of each crew-hand shone through I think I could have worked it out if we all masked up for the night Maybe a thought SusieQ could take to bed for next years "Starry Night" I am sure we will have Van Gogh's "Starry Night Cafe" up by then even if it be only a print? The Captain has indeed been very lucky finding the calibre of seaman in every member of this Fearless and Faithful crew It's about time I ploughed into the charts again as I have a gut feeling we are going in the wrong direction Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!!<http://web.icq.com/shockwave/0,,4845,00.swf> > > Lots of hugs
PS My dear Emperor "It is a very poor tradesman that blames his tools" and also many thanks with helping out with the awards They seemed to have your fingerprint on them together with a few others SusieQ thinks she can identify (Message edited by captain_chaza on December 21, 2003)
