First mate spids on deck. Keeping a weather eye open for reindeer etc., The power went off at spider's house for a while, so mrs spider and I went for a wander. We bought the makings for some brandy cream and treated ourselves to an ice cream. We sat in the grass near an intersection and watched the world go by. The sun was nearly set but you could still make out the outline of the mountain in the distance. Peaceful, but we did manage to scare this young bloke out walking his dog! I'm sure the captain wont mind if we issue an extra ration of rum for tomorrow, being Christmas and all. Only one more sleep. God bless you all. spider.

DUCKS! For all those of you out there that were concerned for spider's ducks after the 'hundred year storm'. Good news! At some ungodly hour this Christmas morning, mrs spider sighted one parent duck and two young ones. This probably means that we have lost at least two but, at least two have survived! Sightings of spider's ducks have always been a good omen (OMG I'm starting to sound like yogi!), in the past, so with a bit of luck (we could all use a bit of that) the survival of some of spider's ducks will mean a profitable year for all of us. (They were apparently heading down stream, not sure what that means.) (spider's dragonflys have returned as well, but that's another story........ spider. .

An inflatable boy took a pin to his inflatable school one day and got called into the inflatable principal's office. The principal said: "Well Johnny, you've let yourself down, you've let me down and you've let the whole school down." .

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgery. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said: "I'm so sorry, Cuddles has passed away." The distressed owner wailed: "Are you sure?" "Yes, I am sure. The duck is dead," he replied. "How can you be so sure?" she protested. "I mean, you haven't done any testing. He might just be in a coma." The vet rolled his eyes and left the room, returning a few moments later with a black labrador retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog and took it out and returned with a beautiful cat. The cat jumped up on the table and also sniffed delicately at the bird. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room. The vet looked at the woman and said: "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100 per cent certifiably, a dead duck." Then the vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman. The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$350!" she cried. "$350 just to tell me my duck is dead?" The vet shrugged. "I'm sorry. If you'd taken my word for it, the bill would have been $40, but what with the lab report and the cat scan-" .

Spider..those are so pathetic they're terrific - my warped kind of humour. On another note what's happening in the stock market world? I hope none of the ducks lining up have been to the vet lately? regards, wadda

Morning Everyone! I thought the second joke was a goody Spider Since the Captains still on holidays, Is anyone interested in any of the following? Bks, coo, vre, brw, pdn, nia, ext, avn, gul ? I'm currently holding Bks& Pdn seriously looking at coo although the sector (IT) & little volume worries me a little. Julles

Julles, VRE is on the move today, as is Coo. But where is the Il Capitanio? Should not it first be blessed by the anointed one? To buy without him would normally shiver my timbers but I think Charles already has VRE in his trunk, as distinct from trunks.

Julles and other sailors, I must have had my head down swabbing the decks for too long as I've lost track of the current logbook status. Bought VRE a couple of weeks ago and holding - going well. Have a look at BGF, announcEment today re Germany. I hold but I don't know whether the Capn ordered it to be lowered? COO seems to trade in the range of 3-5.4 so I'd be cautious. PDN was a good call - did you get in? Previous long term resistance at 4.7, now above that. NIA would be my choice with lots of volume yesterday - continuing today, +ve TMF and MACD signal....however did we just miss it? Should have acted on my gut feeling this morning after looking at it. Cheers, Wadda
