We could certainly use SueMac's sea scouting ability, how about it Sue? What did you use??? Tealeaves Crystal balls, how'd you pick this downward spike??? It certainly wasn't wishful thinking on my part. My Ncp put didn't even get licked at! Ouch alright Captain, I've had thoughts of jumping off for awhile as the funds are becoming less and less.. Hi Captain and crew, What a day! Mine was made even worse because I seem to have the wrong brand sheets and running gear. My hoisting and lowering mechanism (Commsec) seems to be damaging the sails and slowing me down even more. (See my posts on "Best online trading site") I couldn't get many of my orders in before open because of them. And that was only the start! Time for a new broker. Suggestions anyone? Well called(?) Suemac. Starb'd

Ahoy Admiral Colin / 1st Mate Robin and the IC crew Congratulations on your stirling efforts in fetching our 1st Mate Officer Spids We all appreciate the time and endeavour necessary to execute such a complicated rescue attempt Once a man is overboard on the Good ship "Incredulous" he is on his own "If" in rough sea and weather conditions Just a small improvement to this magnificent site If I may?? Maybe the "Signature" statements could be done in a smaller type /Italic /different colour typeface? Can't think of any other improvements at this stage Unfortunately We have had full sight of all the indicators unlike poor old Spids and can offer no excuse We have just been simply been DUMB and hesitated again Bon Appetit Captain Chaza (Message edited by captain_chaza on April 29, 2004)

OK, I'll reveal all - I felt it in my water! No, honestly, listening to Gann proponents the date of 28.04.04 was signalled as a "correction". Elliott Wave devotees have been screaming for months about the "when" not "if" correction. On my own account, I've been watching the market not being able to push through that resistance at 3400+. It has had three attempts at it (peaks) and looks to have failed again, although the bar this week is still within my 1.5% tolerance so it could turn and push through. Don't forget I'm looking at the longer term. The daily charts are too turbid for me, so although I do look at them, I don't feel I have the skills to trade in that arena. No doubt the short-term traders are feeling a bit squeamish after such a ride today. I like days like today, they give me points (troughs) to draw uptrends along (ie SRP, SIG)to give me a signal to sell when it closes two weeks below uptrend line. You don't even notice today's action on their weekly charts.
Bon voyages!

Ahoy Stowaway SusieMac There is something wrong in those charts??? Design is only a matter of FORM and FUNCTION The FORM looks good but I am not one to draw in 3 attempts at a trend line on the same day "X" axis At sea on the ASX you just have to be decisive To say the FUNCTION of the ALL Ords in the last few years is GANN like is ludicrous Nothing like a 45 degrees NE course In realty I think it is more like NE E of E direction over the last few years We all need to work on our "y axis " grids at times as they can be very tricky Some look as if they are heading NE but in reality they they are only drifting NE of E (Which is always better than South!!!) The OBV was thrown overboard a long time ago so I am not too sure what you mean by that useless information and space? BUT well done anyway !! Which ever way you did it or came to your timely warning IT is logged in and now Legendary I prefer you to use any TA but if tea-leaves will help us get to the mark you are most "Welcome" aboard and keep the good work up

Oh Capitan I keep so much in my head, and that is also legendary. I've posted the monthly chart with explanation of my own little code. The main line or trend bands run along top of peaks in downtrend and under troughs in an uptrend. Two closes above downtrend line and I buy, two closes below uptrend line and I sell - all on a weekly chart. I also confirm buys/sells with Gann swing charts, direction of moving averages to ensure a move up is not just a corrective wave in a larger wave going down, and ensure that the stock isn't trading above Wave 3 (Elliot Wave). Gann's 50% rule I've found valuable, ie when a stock retraces 50% of previous uptrend and then bounces, it is often a strong move and has a high probability of rising at least the same range of the previous upleg. This could also apply in short-term trades. Re OBV, "...I am not too sure what you mean by that useless information and space?" Captain, you are a harsh man, but I'll forgive you because you can't be expected to read my mind and know how I use it. It's a recent "addition" to my attempting to unravel the mysteries of short-term moves. "14 bar signal - green line crossing up through red line with blue line trending up under red line" is supposed to be a buy signal on a daily chart. I don't need to know how it works, just that it does work but I'm yet to explore that fully. I only have basic knowledge of Gann and I only have XAO history back to 82 so I'm not in a position to debate your conclusion about the move on the XAO and Gann analysis. However, when I've seen several "predictions" over the last few years that have come in spot on, there's got to be something in it. I don't have the inclination to delve deeper there but I am happy to use Gann swing charts and price cycle analysis for the purpose of trading the trends. Gool sailing today.

Ahoy Stowaway SusieMac Whatever instrumentation you feel comfortable with you should always use I have always felt there are a lot better indicators out there than the OBV (Stochastics RSI ROC %R etc) In certain markets I actually prefer the opposite to the OBV ei I prefer the Volume to drop as the share goes North The Gann grids were too hard for this skipper and well done if they work for you Sometimes 50% retracements only show up Log scale How does that fit in with Capt Gann? I only draw in your extreme trendline Like you I have no time or use for the matching parallel Try trending the RSI for a while and tell me what you think I don't think much will happen today until the Fremantle Doctor comes in just after 2.00 PM If at all? Here's hoping anyway I do like your idea of a double confirmation day at times and used to have the great facility of 2 day charts Nowadays I just try to mentally visualize them when I feel it necessary (When I remember?)
Welcome aboard again The Captain and Crew need all the help we can get in these horrible conditions
