Ahoy Captain Scalper back in action after a compulsory 11 day lay off, called a "Holiday". Can't wait to get back into my speed boat and hoist a few quick sails, but may take a bit of time to get the mindset right. 11 days by the sea was just the ticket, now have a million and one ideas ticking in my head. It's good to be back. Look forward to reading some of the postings to get my blood pumping Cheers to the Crew. Scalper

Ahoy Chief Petty Officer Starboard Tack I hoped you didn't get stopped out with the EPT 6 months ago when we first hoisted the beautiful bitch I still can't understand why I didn't average down around the mid 60's Just as well it was a long term investment call, Hey? Hold on fearless ST All we have to do now is pick the top and then exit She has been a long haul and owes us heaps

Ahoy Cap, I have to confess that I did get stopped out after we hoisted it!! But I entered again when it recently broke .76 - so I'm very happy with the wind in its sails today. It has paid me back. Starb'd PS Thanks for the promotion!!

Captain, Lets hope that the same is happening with ETT. The last few trading days look much more positive! Maybe the landlubbers are starting to get used to the change in decimal point. Regards, Starb'd

Well Captain, EPT did get a speeding ticket, but, instead of a plain "dunno why", they responded with a very positive "Dunno why"! Hope the trend continues. Starb'd

Ahoy Captain I've looked it over a couple of times Captain and understanding that a little knowledge can be dangerous but was wondering why we sold PCL this morning? I've looked at the chart and yes selling on the open was a good trade in hindsight, but i'm struggling to understand why it was a sell based on market activity. As Captain I understand you don't not like your sails being questioned. I'm just struggling to see the wind shift ahead. Kind regards Stampy The cabin boy

Ahoy Cabin Boy Stampy Nothing very scientific really, loyal Stampy When we re- hoisted the PCL last Wed a gust caught us and we overpaid on the open This in itself is not a bad sign but a good one However the wind strength did not seem to hold firmly for the next 3 days Yesterday was the only good green day but that was heavily based on large volume which is not "Wind" but Liquidity IE "The depth of the water you are sailing upon" We all have to make quick seamanship judgements almost every day The skipper must always act instinctively and without hesitation (Sadly, Not one of the Captain's strongest qualities of Seamanship he is the proudest' ) But if you look around and see other skippers in trouble using similar classes of "running" (Energy) Sails that just stop and reverse forming Bull Trap weather patterns It does scare the hell out of you a bit (see AMU) but can give you a few helpful clues and to respect for the sea for all her moods and tantrums There is always time to re-hoist if and when the picture becomes clearer provided you have a good memory and the discipline to check the charts on a regular basis

Ahoy Braveheart Seems like another good day for golf with no bloody wind Geez we can be unlucky I only put the MST back into my watchlist yesterday afternoon OUCH! I really hate it when the Yanks get onto the front foot first Sometimes Courage is not always enough Braveheart when Sailing the Global Exchange We will now need to show extreme patience, rest up and tack another day Captain Chaza

Ahoy Baveheart Yep the Ett #3 is doing well and has covered up the Captains mistake of Buying the ETT #1 at the top price From memory we all got caught out in those days as no stop would have worked Do you Remember that Chief Petty Officer Starboard Tack The ETT #2 was a failed attempt to average down and pull the her back on deck Gee Whiz It always takes great courage to hoist a #3 sail What do we do now brave ST? It is never really plain Sailing Is it?
TMS is finding a little wind

Ahoy Captain, Yes it was a very brave call on your part to raise the #3. Where to from now? Well, for my part I will hold on. It appears to me that its only crime was to be too slow in the eyes of some skippers. They dumped it too quickly when there was no fresh news issued for a long time. Then came the 1 for 10 fiddle. That nocked the socks off it down to the recent bottom. I noticed a few days ago that there were no more sellers willing to drop further. I guess that all the skippers who love speed ("stink boat" drivers?) had dropped out by then, leaving only the long termers. I think that there will be some profit taking from some new blood that entered very recently, but that the general direction will be up. At what speed I don't know! Regards, Starb'd
