Hi julles, a couple of days ago I was reading one of your posts and I came across this quote at the end................ "Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture...Do not build up obstacles in your imagination. Norman Vincent Peale (1898 - 1993) " I was having a bit of a rough day, but reading this helped to get me back on track. Isn't it amazing how the right thing comes along at just the right time, just when you need it, if you just believe that it will. Thank you for writing that, just like the starfish in the famous story, "it made a difference to this one". spider. .

Yes I see your point Captain and it was probably a rash move at the time, I will just have to ride it out for now. What say you of SGV? Your very welcome Spider and I totally agree the universe delivers. All we need to do is open our hearts and minds and be open to receiving the answers. Julles

Ahoy brave and loyal crew Sometimes great performing sails in poor weather can catch the imagination of other skippers All of a sudden the wind and seas seem a little friendlier Green with envy they have often been known to pay through the nose for such rare flyers Hold on tight brave ones One of these days the wind will stay in a few of our sails and we will be able to continue on our planned voyage NE Naturally will go a lot faster without dragging all the Captains mistakes (Mid -long term investments) Landlubbers love bargain sails and maybe we have left enough #2 and #3 sails to help drag them back on deck We will have to work the front and stern of the ship from here on a lot smarter than we have in the past That is for sure! Bon Voyage and Gods speed Captain Chaza

Ahoy brave and loyal crew I have finally written up the logs Weeks #42 to Week #49 Up dated to Friday 16 April 2004 What a tough 8 weeks and more
It will surely take weeks to analyze the Captains state of mind and performance during this miserable calm Any helpful seamanship tips would be very much appreciated The Captain is feeling a little sea-sick and sorry for himself The Doldrums can weigh heavy on both body and soul In summary our Prize Money slipped (+$261,974 to +$261,847) EI -$127 HOWEVER Our Paper losses drifted SE even further from (-$74,976 to -$102,878) The "Incredulous" % Gains slipped from 74.80 % to 63.56% The "All Ords" % Gains improved from 14.72% to 16.93% What a bitter disappointment that must be to us all! Captain Chaza
Ahoy Sea-Cadets Before you jump ship, We have only retraced and drifted SE ~20% off our top NE'ly position Quite acceptable to lots of skippers but NOT this Skipper This Skipper knows we can do better! AND WE WILL!

Ahoy Captain, I'm wondering if you have any suggestions on VGL as I see more ups than downs with this little sail.

The Ship certainly did really well last year Captain! Great work on updating the log books, it certainly is a lot of work navigating spread sheets. Mossie suggested letting go of some that are dragging the ship back as she trys to race forward. Is this still out of the question? Julles
