Captain I've used all my power's of .... and I've devised a plan , If we aren't dancing by 10.00 p'clock my time then I will have to get a guests key from susiQ However if we are dancing she may have to bribe me (which could be a good thing) what's time after all? looking forward to it. Do you have mice? I do... Julles

To the great Captain and all the great Crew, I am so sorry that I won't be able to travel down to Melbourne for the big night. It sounds like it will be one that shouldn't be missed. My very best Christmas wishes to all of you - have a great night. Would it be possible to post a few photos of the great event? (Spider - on "reflection" maybe they could be a bit clearer?!?). My back has kept me below deck for the past week, and now Mrs Starboard has ordered me to stay away from the deck for the next few weeks. So I am in the process of lowering some of the riskier sails, checking for wear and tear on the others, and setting the wind vane and self-steering gear. I hope my ship doesn't drift too far off-course while I am not on deck! Have a great Christmas and New Year everyone, and I look foreward to catching up next year. All the best, Starb'd

Well, it appears that everyone is still recovering from a wonderful night of laughter, great food, wine and general merry cheer. A big thanks to Captin Chaza for all the planning that went into arranging such a great evening, & for allowing a mere sea cadet to dine at the same table as his holiness! Sea-hounds way with word had us all laughing as he presented the awards. Perhaps someone will post these wonderfully prestigious memoirs on the site. It was lovely to at last put faces to the names which have become part of our daily ritual of trading. I trust you made it back safely Jules. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and festive period. I am away for 2 weeks now, but might just get the chance to stop in from time to time. Heres to 2004, and a successful year for all! Missy

Ahoy Sea-acadet Miss LOVELY I normally hate people with good looks because this captain sails with no stops They always seem to take advantage and get a little more leeward wind I would love to wish you all a Merry Xmas and Prosperous NY It was a really great night For me! The crew were "Incredulous!" in body and in soul The faces were surprising but the courage and calibre were no different than expected It was almost LOVE I felt like Whitlam, Bob Hawk and Keating when Brave-heart said to me " Don't start crying now, Captain" I was very touched But I did try to kept my cool Even Officer Scalper wondered how I could handle it? and I must thank him for his encouragement during the night It was such a great night to meet real men and women of the sea I have decided Landlubbers will always now be barred for 2 lifetimes Who needs their FA ei ( Fu*k All info)
PS Ahoy Sea-Cadet Miss LOVELY Loveliness DOES NOT help you with this Skipper but I do think you could be a chartist as good as any Maybe we need to have a few private meetings to work out where you are really at?

Well what a night heh!!!! It was such fun meeting everyone and putting names to faces, I was a little apprehensive at first as Monty his partner and I were a little late so the crew and the Captain had time to break the ice between each other but my Chaffaur' Monty and his partner and I had a great chat about just about everything on the way there. ( even Saint Kilda's promiscuous history ) We found the Cafe' by seeing Spider's Jag parked on the corner and then spotted a close nit group sitting on the sidewalk at tables on this quaint little character riddled street called Riddel, they were all laughing away so we agreed that that must be them!!! I couldn't have been made feel more welcome when the Captain thrust a glass of champagne in my hand, while SuziQ was greeting me with a hug! We were then lead inside and seated at the Captain's table, finger food was offered on huge platters and boy I didn't know what to taste first. Everything looked delicious and it was! Seahound then started the night off with the awards that Suzi and he put together for our little get together, the whole street would have taken notice of this cafe that night as the laughter just got more heartfelt as each award was read. I got "The Australian Coast Guard Award For Dedicated Chart Forum Monitoring" My award a Gold Ladle with it's Own Gimbal !!! To much monitoring maybe?? lol Can you understand me now Scalper Brilliant stuff written by Seahound and printed and decorated with beautiful framing by our wonderful Cheer leader SuziQ! (You couldn't find a better person!) After that we had a fabulous meal and we all found ourselves mingling just as a Christmas party should be. Brilliant, the best time I've had in ages. However, I am disapointed that SuziQ didn't get up to dance on the table, (Cafe licensing rules) however I do think I struck the fear of god into the Captain when I stood on that chair to make a toast! Monty and friend could'nt put the camera down, the flash just didn't stop! I'm sure there's plenty of black- mail photographs that he'll hold onto tightly *I hope* !! After that and a fabulous meal we all found ourselves mingling just as a Christmas party should be. Some inside the cafe and some outside on the sidewalk. A Special mention of thanks to the Captains family and staff for putting their Cafe' up to us with full service on the night. And Many many thanks to Suzi Q for having a bed and hug for me Monty & friend for going out of their way to get me there Spider & Mrs Spider for the lovely Christmas card Macca for sharing with me a little of himself Nicola for being You, you Golden Greek You! Scalper for dressing as a pirate and speaking it as it really is Missy for her eagerness Mos for being Mos and fundamentaly oils! Myklan for always trying to help all of us Seahound for his gracious speeches Toni for visiting all the way from Perth and last but not at all the least The Captain for bringing us all together. Love to all of you .... Julles (Message edited by julles on December 21, 2003)

spider sat at the captain's table. The venue was magic. The service was excellent. scalper (the pirate) stole the show. susieq's awards were well received. There was laughter from beginning to end. mrs spider got lost but eventually found the 'the sidewalk cafe'. The crew and the captain sat one table apart for about a half an hour before sesieq took matters into her own hands and brought us all together. The burger and chips were magic, spider met julles, a great lady.

Well....What a priviledge!!!... To self invite and be accepted by Susieq, helped by a kind endorsement by Mosaic, it was indeed a wonderful night sitting at The Captain's Table amongst such great contributors to IC. As a DFF landlubber, fearful of being tagged as a stowaway and thrown overboard, it was special to be made welcome and yes, even to receive an award due to my Titanic like move into shorting BHP. And to those so kind as to advise and comment at the time including Bundy and Claudius...I am still liquid and no worse off than wounded pride. And each of the night's attendees who have been so forthcoming during the year in helping so many was on the night such great and warm company. Julles, high (????) on the chair and worrying all during her toast showed that in real life her warmth and inner beauty is even stronger than her posts suggest. And Scalper's pirate outfit....second to none To each attendee thank you for your wisdom during the year and for such a great night of laughter with the Captain. And to Captain Chaza....Thanks for the priviledge. Macka....

Captain Chaza & The Merry Crew Top night, had a ball. It's great to able to mix with such a diverse range of traders and share their experiences.Trading can be a lonely sport. The food was terrific, especially the seafood, you should be proud Captain Chaza. However was highly embarrassed with my attire since Susieq did tell me it was a fancy dress occasion. The only bad news Captain Chaza, i have to report is that i have found a better group of traders, Yes even better than the "Incredulous". Their called "retailers", talk about scalping, these traders over the past few days have fleeced me, all i wanted was a couple of rabbits for the little scalpers tp play with. Talk about blue sky profits, theres water bottles to buy, hay, salt blocks, flea stuff, mange stuff, worm stuff, and i have even built them a fake volcanic rock to live in, their free to roam the backyard. These retailers are true "scalpers". Cheers & Merry Xmas to all ......

Scalper Did I say that? I can't remember doing so, but heartily apologise for leading you astray re the dress code if I did. I thought you looked fabulous!! Top marks for being creative, outlandish and fun! Much more appropiate than the rest of us in boring old smart casual. Ah, the retail "scalpers" have had us all on a string for a long time when it comes to kids and pets. I bought my three children (ten years ago) a $3 mouse each, and then paid $100 for the mouse house to keep them in. Soon we were over run with mice, which the kids thought they could sell back to the pet shop at $3 per head and establish a profitable business for themselves. Not so. It appears, there was a shortage when we bought and a glut when we wanted to sell. Bit like some of my trading expereince. To all the crew and of course our dear Chazza have a safe and happy holiday and Christmas break before we re-enter the most difficult and challenging game of all next year. Kind regards SusieQ ( heading out to the hammock with a cool wine and a good book)
