Spider arrived back to his Vic web safely. What a pleasure it was to meet with you guys. Any bunch of dudes that will come out on a wintry Monday night is keen! You made me feel very welcome. I was impressed by the way that you look out for one another (with the exception of the whole bus stop incident!). It was easy to see that you guys have worked out your trading systems, and you are working them. I found your reasons for wanting to trade to be very interesting, they mirror our group. What a fantastic venue. Spider wasn't feeling too well that night, and if it had not been for the excellent conversation, I would have been tempted to curl up on that comfy looking couch in front of the fireplace. It was good to see the mix of ages in your group. It was good of you to let me talk so much, our group has heard all my stories, and I think they are planning to bring a pillow to all future meeting, just to shut me up! Thanks again to Alan for setting it all up, I wish you all great success. Good wine, great company, and excellent surroundings, what more could an eight legged dude want? spider. P.S. Don't let them spoil your beautiful city by pulling things down to replace them with ugly things. P.P.S. Your war memorial is the most moving I have seen anywhere. .

Guys, Patsy and I have now moved to Newcastle so we won't be able to come along (unless like Spider we happen to be visiting). Best wishes. Jim.

Spider Thanks for the kind words - if you pass this way again...... We are looking forward to the book - Escapades of an Eight Legged Dude or something similar - it would be worth the asking price, just for the stories - the trading tips would be an extra bonus!!!!! Jim/Patsy, Hope it all goes well in Newcastle and hope that someone jumps on board the traders group there. All the best Al

Sorry this took so long, but here are the two book titles I had with me that night. "Do you want to make money or would you rather fool around?" by John D Spooner. Excellent read. "How to trade in stocks" by Jesse Livermore added material by Richard Smitten. The only book Livermore ever wrote. Enjoy. spider. .

Adelaide Traders held their July meeting at the Breknock on the last Wednesday of July. Apologies came from Mick and Steve. Apologies also from myself as I thought I had posted details of the meeting last week. Oooops!!!!! Plenty of stocks and entry/exit criteria were discussed as was the state of the market in general. As we are now all in touch by email, it is nice to see a flow of information between members - keep it coming. The list of stocks discussed/to watch was STO, ALL, MRL, CML, SSX and SMX. On the list for next meeting is ADXR/MA entry. Next meeting Wednesday 27 August 7pm Al

Arthur, the meetings are certainly open to all. What you get out of the meetings is entirely up to you. After the meal we have a computer set up to help each other with trading problems etc. The meetings are fairly casual and a good chance to mix with like minded people. Hope we see you there. Mick.

Hi, Adelaide Traders, When I read the following it reminded me of our group. Author James Bender tells a story about a farmer who was famous for growing award-winning sweet corn. Year after year his corn took the blue ribbon at the state fair. Finally a curious news reporter asked the farmer for the secret to his continual success -- and he was shocked both by the answer and by the farmer's eagerness to reveal it. Turns out the secret was simple: The farmer freely shared his seed corn with all his neighbors. The astonished reporter asked, "But how can you afford to do that? After all, they're in competition with you." "Well, sir," the farmer replied, "don't you know how corn grows? "As the ears ripen, pollen is picked up by the wind and carried from field to field. If my neighbors don't grow excellent corn, my own crop will suffer as cross-pollination degrades it. So if I want to grow excellent corn, I MUST want the same for my neighbors, and my actions must support that." Here's a very PRACTICAL illustration of the value of creative mind compared to competitive mind! And even if you're NOT a corn farmer, you don't have to look far to see how this same principle shows up in your own life and circumstances!! See you at the meeting Wed's. Mick.
