Uhhh if only I had $120000 to make that $4000 grand alas for kitchen hands like Moi' it's a matter of picking and choosing the flavour of the day. Going to a Spiritulist church this Sunday, maybe I'll be given insight from there. Hope so.. Julles
If you don't know, then how would I know? That's why we communicate, maybe we can discuss something and reach a conclusion that makes us feel OK about our choices, not right not wrong but OK because we made the choice.

Having spent most of my working life around yachts, I felt compelled to read these nautical postings. They really have a lovely flavour amd I hope I am not intruding. I went through and checked the stocks and felt TWR had divergence on the daily, weekly and monthly charts and wondered if 'reefing in' may be appropriate? I am relatively new to using these charting indicators, having studied Gann for quite some time, where our tools were completely different. After a long time of battling with it, I have found this a lot easier and more productive. I still have a lot to learn though. Please forgive my if my MACD reading is incorrect. Lulu

Welcome aboard sea-cadet lulu It's really great to have another wet T shirt onboard Sailing is all about temperament and courage Unfortunately these are not given to all but we must do the best we can with what we are given We seamen always try to use the best form of logic and safety drills but sailing on our bear instincts always seems to work best for some reason? Sometimes we just seem to lose our patience with a few sails in order to put on a little bit of extra speed At dawn on the open LOWER the Green BSA @ 0.35cents HOIST the green SNN at dawn LOWER the green FXR @ 0.66 HOIST the red SKG at dawn HOIST the red GUN at dawn Bon voyage and Gods speed Captain Chaza

Thank you Good Capt'n. I'm looking forward to the journey. BSA had a total of $16,800 in volume on Friday. Do you have a volume / turnover criteria? That's below my waterline. I've set my sites on FXR.

Julles, When I put your list through a list of tests I forgot to ask what your intention was. Probably you were looking for a quick trade whereas I was probably looking for a short, medium or even a likely to be a long term trade later on.The selection tended to be probably over cautious. I forgot to mention a little bit of FA which also swayed my selection towards MAH ahead of FEA. That was directors' buying and the resumption of dividends after 5 years, which was a vote of confidence. Besides that the company also had a heap of contracts on hand, not that it matter much to a technical analysts. To day the market depth's is in the buyers' favour ratio 2 to one. Existing member Acorn also gave it the thumbs up by increasing holding from 9 to 11%. Peterloh

Lulu, What is "reefing in"? Is it same as lowering the sail ie is exiting? Peterloh

Hello Peterloh, when strong weather is on the way, one reduces the amount of sail up, (reefing in), giving better control and you will not be tossed around so much. So, what I meant was to tighten stops, as I found there was divergence, which suggests a change could be imminent. I hope that makes sense.

Lulu, Thanks for the explanation and caution.Certain shares, I have a different approach to short term trading. For strong trending shares, any retracement is an opportunity to add on.TWR to me is an opportunity to add more to my portfolio as I am bullish on this one.Currently, I am very bullish on funds management and insurance sector as I am of the opinion they will have legs. My strategy on investment is to trade certain recovery shares till a dominant pattern is established where a strong trend appears. When this becomes clear I will triple my position. Meanwhile I will test the water and if it does not work out I will exit immediately.I also used FAs to analyse and understand what has change, for the share to establish a different pattern. TAs is my confirmation of the success, charts will tell me how successful is their change in the near future and whether I should go on to the next one or continue to monitor my trade.Change may be change in company's management, services or new product lines, monopoly, or cyclical demand, new barriers to entry, inventions, new contracts etc. Sorry Captain, for taking up your space. sometimes it is better to explain my thoughts to eliminate and reduce misunderstanding.I also realise now most of my sails tend to be heavy laden, hopefully some of them do made up for it. Peterloh

Captain, Peter and all good people on board..... good wishes and regards. Captain, thanks, appreciated your informative post on ex-divi stocks. Now I know. Couple of my ex-div stocks have started to claw back up, need more patience. Captain, my compliments. It appears your good ship's course is being monitored and followed by many experienced captains and novice sailors. Volume seem to go up as soon as you hoist the flags. MST,SKG, SNN have been hoisted.
Please do not consider my mention of any stocks to be a recommendation to buy, sell or hold. I am here to learn.
