Good Captain Chaza As You know, I got hauled off to the penalty box for forty days and forty nights, after which I got the big finger wag in the moosh by the Admiral, before I was allowed back onto the field, 'cos I squirrel gripped your first mate Spider in the scrum. He probably still cringes every time he thinks of me. Hence, I reckon he is likely to reject my application to become a crew member. So, as you know, I have special talents which may come in useful on a sea voyage. May I leave it up to you to do the delicate negotiations which only a true leader can accomplish. Cheers Ann aka cabin boy Billie

So far first mate spids has received an application from 'starboard tack' and from 'peterloh' to join the crew. Naturally I was excited to receive applications from such experienced and talented "seamen". I'm hoping that we can enlist the services of our esteemed former cook 'julles'. Maybe we can talk our former land based spectator 'susieq', to join us this time. As always, spids will take the night watch, so that the crew can sleep soundly. first officer spids.

CC & First Mate Spids Glad to see the crew is coming together. I must remain a spectator for this voyage, not daring to take my eyes elsewhere until I have the trading with CFDs experiment I am currently embarked upon well and truly tamed. I shall be with you in spirit wishing you favourable fortune but from the clifftops where I might occasionally catch a glimpse of the fair ship Incredulous and its gallant crew. Offer as many inducements as you can to recruit Cook and Officer Julles whose uncanny eye for spotting fair breezes and worthy craft before they even launch is legendary. I shall follow your fortunes with interest and of course as Chief Entertainment Officer can be called upon at voyage's end to organise the homecoming dinner complete with awards for the weary crew. Whilst at sea keep an eye out for Officer Scalper in his little tinny! And the strange noises in the night will be none other than Chief Stowaway Macka Cheers SusieQ

There was once a young lady who for reasons unknown had decided that she had nothing to live for and decided to end her life by jumping off the Westgate bridge. As she was about to take the fatal leap a young man saw her and began talking to her. When she told him of her intentions he told the young lady that he was a sailor who was setting sail with his ship next morning and rather than ending her life she could begin a new one in a new country. He explained that he could smuggle her on board and hide her in one of the lifeboats on the ship and that he would gring her food every day and look after her until they reached Valparaiso where he would smuggle her ashore to start her new life. He was very persuasive in his argument so the young lady agreed. During a moonless night, she was smuggled aboard and hidden in one of the lifeboats and every evening he brought her food and various supplies and spend many hours in her company. This went on for about a week when one day the captain while conducting an inspection of the lifeboats came upon the unfortunate damsel. When he enquired what she was doing on his ship she told him her tale adding that the young sailor was screwing her. The captain told the young lady: "He most certainly IS screwing you dear, You are on the Manly Ferry ! So this voyage you fearless navigators are embarking on; is it an ocean voyage or just a sail around the bay ? And do you take stowe aways ?

Thanks for the invite Cap'n. My only experience of sailing is cruising the Med. Could I read the manifest before I commit ? I don't know if I am up to the task. I mean, exactly what is the crew of the good ship required to do ? And I AM NOT taking a turn in the barrel !

Apologies to "ken" who did indeed apply to join the crew. The first officer was a bit out of it at the time, and so he forgot. Welcome aboard seaman ken. All will be revealed in the captain's good time. first officer spids.

Welcome aboard Murray aka. 'captain_silver'. Murray assures me that that is just a nick name and he does not intend to lead a mutiny! As you are new to this crew you will be expected to 'earn your strips', for as the Captain says, there are no free rides. But, I am sure that you will make a fine crew member. Those of us that have sailed with the captain in the passed know what an experience it can be. There are no guarantees of adventure and treasure, but is is never dull, and our previous crew came back to shore with their pockets bulging. But, as I say, each voyage is unique. and fortune follows the brave, and we are nothing if not brave. first mate spids.
