Good Captain

How in the name of all that is holy or unholy do you select what to hoist, and when, and why?

An illustrative chart might help

Hilarius (wonders how the good ship Incredulous finds enough keel depth in the alligator swamp)

Ahoy Humble Friar

There is always plenty of water under the keel if one moves fast enough
As you know
Every move I make is based solely on charts
I am not FA qualified or have the time for any of the Sweet FA
I still don't know what a rutile is even after trading in it many times!

What time I save in ignoring FA I spend flicking through many more charts

But I really think the secret is not so much in the charts but in the Cruise Strategy

Once YOU find out you are not so good at buying at/near the Bottom and Selling at/near the Top for all the reasons of IMPATIENCE etc etc

We can all do it with the odd few but I have always found it hard to do with a full Spread of sail
(A complete Portfolio in Landlubber talk)

If YOU can do better and have much more FUN with a completely different Strategy
Why not give it a go?

It seems to working out so far for us but it is only early days yet!

The Cruise Strategy Incredulous V#3 is to lock away as much prize money as we can each week and come home dragging as few wet sails as is practical given all the Captain's Stupid Mistakes

Hence forming little green $2000 weekly candlesticks
Simple!?!

There will be no nonsense on this voyage

All the Good old text books have been thrown overboard

However it is always handy to know when
The MACD'ers are Hoisting
The STO'ers are Hoisting
The RSI'ers are Hoisting

When the BF's are setting their sails
Here comes Captain Weinstein and the Pattern breakout alerts

In the end whether you LOWER a TLS and HOIST a RIO or 2 greens Jib sails is the main factor in determining your speed and overall enjoyment of the cruise

You must always try to remember Dear Friar ?

Only the loser pays brokerage on my ship
It is a mental attitude I know
BUT it works!

There are no prizes I know of that reward the winner with the least No. of Tacks and Brokerage costs as there is in GOLF!

That is not to say I am a day trader as you know, I am not

I still can't work out how anyone could have the courage to call any investment on a share a long term investment?

That would be as hard as betting on the Black in Roulette ever day of the year
You really don't have to do this when Sailing on the ASX
All you have to do once a day or so is take a few sightings

If you find there were 7 blacks in a row YOU might find it a good idea to have a bet on the red for a change?

I hope you enjoyed your day at sea

capn
PS Sorry Friar
Were're too far out to sea now to turn back
I hope the crew will make you as comfortable as can be on such a small ship

Thanks to our gorgeous SCO Braveheart the food is always ample
Bon Appetit

Good Captain

It is indeed a sight to behold a ship that believes itself to be on the high seas while trawling the alligator shoals

I will pray on the poop deck for the health of your hearty crew, and pray specially that no one shoots an albatross

Thank you for the insight into your amazing chart hoisting techniques ... and I agree that the middle of a trend is preferable to the risky start or the sticky end

A chart would enlighten still further .......

For those in peril on the sea

I remain

Your devoted

Friar Hilarius

Ahoy Captain and crew

I've been away for a couple of weeks but have climbed back on board. I've had a look at the ships log, very glad to see the Captain and crew sailing nicely. I have no sail recommendations as yet Captain but will keep an eye out for a couple of stink boats.

Regards

Ahoy Brave and Loyal crew

I take your point CSO Braveheart
The blue Storm sails do tend to move us along very slowly
But Safety at sea is Paramount

LOWER the Blue CHX @ 1.55
LOWER the Blue VSL @ 1.545

Bon Voyage and Gods speed

Ahoy Cabin Boy Stamps

Sorry to hear that!

I have put the GGY in the bottom draw as to speak and battened her down
I have had no complaints from any of the crew re GGY?
So far? So good?

I assume all our brave and loyal but you are in good spirits??!!!

The 1st Officer Spids once said
"Sometimes It's like finding "A needle in a haystack"

I think it's a lot harder than that my 1st Mate Spids!

"It's more like finding a Beautiful Negress in a Haystack!"

Once you get lucky, your mind seems to play funny games

One for the long term NOW?
What do you all think?

I feel We still have plenty of other sails to mess around with?

Salute for now

Ahoy Captain and Crew

The new logs are up and available at their new home;

Full Fat(tm)

Low Fat(tm)

The "Full Fat(tm)" version is the one with all the formulas in it, and it is 5.5MB

The "Low Fat(tm)" version is the normal one I have been posting, which has all those unneccessary calculations removed

Captain, I was unsure what you meant by adding axis', so I have implemented grouping instead - have a look and tell me what you think
