I'm with you on this one, msparts. Colin, I'm sick of having to re-adjust and/or redraw lines and captions that I have drawn "into the future" every time you re-call a stock's chart up again.

I like to draw 'arrows', triangles and 'parallels'etc. as future projections but these become distorted or a jumbled mess because the auto extend feature immediately kicks into play at the most recent candle/bar.

I note this feature is not included in the non-paying member version so there is no issue here....may be we should become non-paying members?

thanks for the support Dolphin
it is high risk posting on d'forum

an option to show the gaps on some major index's would be good, yahoo shows the gaps if you use line charts

Msparks/Dolphin,

The auto-extend fixes a problem with trendlines drawn/extended beyond the current date. The application cannot remember the end point of the trendline (it does not have a future trading calendar) and you will find that the trendlines have moved when you return to the chart. The issue affects all chart users.

Captions drawn in the future will experience a similar problem. The only long-term solution is to incorporate a trading calendar into the charting application (charts do not reflect non-trading days). There will still be some limitation as trading calendars are only available about 12 months ahead.

The Yahoo line chart is an intra-day chart. We are currently working on hour & minute charts that will reflect opening gaps in the manner requested. When these are completed we will have time to attend to some of the other outstanding requests.

Regards, Colin

Colin

Thanks for fixing the trendlines.

Now if you can get all the competitions out of the short term and long term stock forums ................
