If we can set the screen as following:

1. choose a time frame (10 minutes, 1 hour, day, week, month, etc)
2. set the time of observation (0)-end of today, this week, this months, etc, or anytime point of time
3. pick a MA(5,10,20, etc)
4. set the criteria: MA at point of observation is higher than last period, for consecutive (N) periods. You can set N=5, or 7, or 11. Up to you.
The result will show you the trending stocks.

Hi jason,

You must have been around when easymoney set up the "I have a plan!" thread, and there are many other examples that screen for trending stocks in archives.

Easymoney was contemplating the holy grail of an entirely automated trading plan which had two goals. The link to his thread is below; briefly he tried to pick stocks which outperform the ASX200 by finding combined crossovers between the EMA200 and the EMA20, and only holding better performing shares (outperforming XJO's relative strength).

I have modified his scan and commonly find stocks on the way back from a retrace using it (and some ring-ins).

ABC #1 example today:

The results of the modified scan:

Happy hunting...

Happy trading DYOR
