The option to apply a Gann swing overlay on a chart would be a really helpful trading tool, as would the ability to easily show the number of trading days and calendar days from a selected high or low.

I've tried to find a feature that would allow overlaying two or more securities on the same chart. Is there such a feature? Thanks.

Daniel,
Use Price Comparison to compare two securities.

Mountainman,
When you refer to a Gann swing overlay, is the peak recorded after two higher highs followed by two lower highs -- the same as the Gann swing oscillator?

Regards,
Colin

Hi Colin

A Gann Swing Chart simplifies any chart by identifying and highlighting the highs and lows. This sounds obvious and perhaps unnecessary, but it does make a huge difference to spotting trading opportunities. I am listing a link to the ASX that site gives a good explanation and I am also attaching a bar chart with the overlay. Please let me know if you require anything else.

Thanks

Thanks MM,

I see Market Analyst offer three different types:
  • Standard (up day/down day)
  • Bars (filter for x number of bars)
  • Points (filter for x number of points)

I have added all three to our list.
Regards,
Colin

Any thoughts on whether trading day or calender days counts will be included as a development for IC? Currently I have to rely on Market Analyst for this function.

Both trading day and calender day would be ideal

Mountainman,

I believe this would be a positive addition to Incredible Charts. We will just have to see where we can fit it in to our development schedule. Not before 2010 unfortunately.

Regards, Colin

Thanks so much for your excellent charting programme and trading diary, Collin. The number of new indicators is astounding. I have little prospect of using them, with lack of time and having reached the 'keep it simple' stage of trading.
A simple time counter, however would be a great addition. This I would use regularly. I am thinking of being able to click on two points on the chart (highs, lows etc) and have a small box hold the number of trading and/or calendar periods between those two points. To have a Fibonacci tool added to this with retracement and extension, as there is now on price, would be the cat's whiskers.
Again,many thanks Collin,
Kind regards,
Ken
