XJO 20 day Bolls have moved inside the 20 day Keltners during this ranging period. Doesn't often happen but when they dip in and dip out again, there is a reasonable chance that prices will head in the direction indicated by the MACDH. Last three times (Oct, Aug, June 2016) this happened, reasonable moves followed. So, is it time for a retrace before another attempt at 5800 or is it time to push straight through.
This is certainly not a long term indication and I have not back tested this, only did a 12 month lookback so dyor. Handy indicator to have when things are going sideways.
My own short term indicator has signalled a "buy" on ETF GEAR but AU & US futures are looking pretty sad at 6am so may be a good day to sit out or even enter BBOZ if it doesn't gap up too much. Spirit level on the see saw is about level at this moment so maybe more prudent to sit and watch...and possibly regret it...

A good indication that Bollinger Bands are forming a "neck". See Bollinger Signals: Contracting Bands

.....you can also identify "necks" (or "squeezes" as some prefer to call them) on Bollinger Bands using Bollinger Band Width.
