I've been tracking CXC for a while.

Having been taught to be cautious, I normally use a nested set of triggers to confirm an uptrend before buying.
First the green DI turns upwards,
- then DIs cross over,
- then the short term MA crosses over the long term MA.
Then it's safe to buy.

In CXC's case, the MA crossover point is expected later this week, if the SP follows past form. I'm guessing the MA crossover will be a bit above $17.50.

CXC is a large silver producer, with secondary interests in Gold. Handy for CXC that silver is a component of flat TVs and solar panels. How closely CXC tracks the spot price of silver, I don't know. Maybe one of you precious metals experts can tell me.

I've noticed that the Legend clutters up the chart, so here it is Legend-free.

Hey, Jimmyswells...

Not too worried at all if the ADX doesn't continue 'turning' up or not! I understand that this part of the DMS(Directional Movement System) is the most important part to watch, not just cross-overs of the two DMI's...i.e. the ADX component is suppose to be the 'trend-strength' indicator of the DMS. Today's action(still live) shows that the ADX has and will finished 'turned' down.

Good luck with CXC; you may be right about a change looming.

Cheers
Dolphin

Two months later and CXC has risen to test the $20.60 resistance point. Hope that some of you managed to get on board in the mid $17s and 18s.

After a couple of weeks of steadiness, the DIs crossed over and 2 gaps up - perhaps signalling another move.

Sadly, the surge didn't eventuate. The price seems to be oscillating within the band as shown. Maybe it's one for the short term range traders out there?

I was 2 weeks early in predicting a surge. A huge rise on Fri and today (Mon), CXC closed at $22.78.

Most recently, CXC has shot up to settle in a $24 band. Can't imagine where it's gonna go next.

It's very odd pattern with gaps all over the place and narrow daily ranges. Solid volume, though.

Well, I guess there won't be any more posts on this thread.
Today, CXC removed itself from the ASX.
It was fun to watch while it lasted.
