Welcome to the "Sept Equinox to December Solstice Challenge ".

As the name suggests this Challenge will begin on the week of Sept 22nd and run till December 22nd over a period of 13 weeks. At which time a acknowledgment will be made towards the top 3 achievers and also to last place.

The original Weekly Comp was aimed at the layman with $5000 drawn off his mortgage or visa card ,,a standard trading account and a day job,,,probably had a wife and kids also.

Based on the previous Weekly Comp this stock tipping Challenge will use Mondays open price for an entry and Fridays close as an exit.

An intra week Stop may be nominated after market close on any day Monday to Thursday and the closing price of that position will be the next days open price that being the nearest exit price. Thus closing your position till the start of the new week where you may enter a new entry.

Only long positions maybe be nominated at a price no lower than 5c.No warrants or such devices simply stock tickers.

Nominations must be accompanied with a chart and clearly show the TA used with a short explanation of that TA.May i suggest that IC's software be used for your chart postings.

"Long Continuous" positions maybe be announced prior to 4pm on Friday to maintain your nomination for the forth coming week.

Anyone that has not used their "Stop" or the "Long Continuous" facility will have Fridays close as their exit.

An entrant that has his nomination go into Trading Halt will also have their position halted untill the stock resumes trading.

Each entrant will be awarded a starting capital of $5000 (cyber dollars) profits will compound forward and anyone reaching a capital of $10,000 maybe split their (cyber) capital into 2 positions of $5000 each or continue with no money management and use the $10,000 on a single entry.

Short term weekly awards such as 1st,2nd,3rd and last place will be acknowledge and recorded as i have done previously along with the % of profit or loss.

Any new entrant to the challenge can feel free to ask for help regarding posting as many here are familiar with the above conditions and methods used.

Please place your tips and chart here in this thread.

I would have put continued if I have remembered. This one won't win any premiership in a week but I think it will put in a solid performance this time. Chart to follow as I am not at my computer.

Baggus, MGO, L

I'm determined to right last week's wrong with a good pick so have gone with MGO. The chart below is not that of CSD(last week's pick) with just a name change but incredibly MGO has mirrored CSD in its recent action so I'm hoping(ambitious)it will continue the mirroring action and provide a 100% legitimate result or me and whoever else jumps on board early next week.

So MGO has two flag consolidations on light volume after two zoom legs up and with good buying/selling ratio evident should continue up sometime next week.

MGO for this week....................................................................................................................CSD last week

...

Have a good weekend

Baggus

Flag with accompanying volume.

P.S... Thanks Dolphin. As you said, I would have brought it to Rags' attention sometime. Some people aren't on the computer 24/7, but it was there for all to see anyway.I also think that Baggus should have been given the benefit of the doubt last week as there has been an entry timed at 10:01am in the (distant) past being snuk through without a hassle. DEFINITELY no "protest, protest ,protest" that time

Say appears to have found support after pulling back through last week. Volume isn't great but this one has a high correlation with Stochastic which is turning up from oversold.

Good luck all for the coming week. Thanks Rags for your efforts.

Rudy L CTP

Not my usual SMSF trade but hey, I hope to enjoy the ride (or the crash )

The stock decided to 'close the gap' and is now in what I believe is an overstretched condition and ready for a snap back. The move from the top looks to me like a 3 wave move where the first and third waves are of similar range.

The W%R and Fast Stochastic indicators indicate a possible move up and the LBB may act as a trampoline. The MBB looks like a reasonable sort of a short term target.

Mind you I could equally have cut myself to ribbons with a 'falling knife'.

I've given you my view based on what I know now. In another 5 minutes that view might change because of additional information. It's the best I can do - Rudy

CFE
Was looking at IGR,IAU both off which I hold but CFE looks more interesting sitting above .42 resistance which should now become support nice rise up on volume EMAs in the right spot
I dont hold .52 is probably next level/target

jaded THX

been trying to get on this all week.
still believe it will retrace/fill one or more of those gaps early this week so is not an 'ideal' monday open candidate for this comp but what the heck,i will actually be following it's open looking to buy [higher high and small/possible resistance breech]so it's my pick.

rumour of news next week clarifying doolgunna/spitfire 'nearology'.

Eagle - IGR - has gone up every week for a long time - MACD in bullish phase - concern is that it's gone above upper Bollinger Band which in the past has seen sideways move - this pick bound to ensure that repeats.

Az, LYC L. Telstra has to replace my homeline along with the neighbours, it will take 3 wks. Lucky ive got the laptop, though I can't post charts on here. LYC has had a stellar rise, and while I try to buy at low's I think this has some "rare earth" hype going on and is going blue sky, Unfortunately I don't have the funds to get in, Rgds Az.

Dolphin, HGO, L

Quite a few TAZ trade set-ups and confirmations from mid last week so hard to know which ones to pick for 'performance'. Two standouts are NGF and HGO and whilst NGF has the unique TAZ set-up(ie both on a Weekly and a Daily charts on the same week)and better M/D I'm picking HGO because the pullback to the TAZ(cluster) set-up at the 31c recent low represented:-

(a)... the 50% retracement of the strong thrust up from the Aug. 27 low which was a triple bottom;

(b)... back to (yellow)downtrend resistance and (orange) 'breakout' point and now support;

(c)...150 EMA rising support(now all 3 EMA's are rising);

(d)...All 5 TAZ 'set-up' compliances have been fulfilled with Friday's action.

Some great picks this week so should have plenty on good competition!

Hope you all prosper this week!

Cheers
Dolphin

jaded PEK L

can i change my pick from THX to PEK?

These are parabolic trend lines 'flattened' out by 1 Month chart rather than 6.
I do not feel they're confirmed because they aren't 3 hitters but i'm thinking d'buzz on rare earth may well take PEK into 76+ territory this week.

Friday's reaction to a in the 40's Placement is comforting[usually price back tracks to placement price]

Further the placement was of 4 million shares odd yet Friday stayed Up on more than double that in Volume
[selling sophistos have sold and gone, maybe?
Selling pressure by sophistos absorbed?]

So that's a go at 28%+ on a 61 Open and 76close and that'd be sweet,hey?

cheers.

Some spectacular results for the folks in the 'green'. Well done. My inexperience in penny dreadfuls is showing up but I'll keep going to hopefully improve.

My pick this week will be AZZ. To me it looks like its in a corrective phase so it's not one for staying in for very long however it does look like the corrective rally is still incomplete.

It's obviously playing in an ascending channel and found some support at the 49 cent level and with some luck will attempt to get to the upper boundary of the channel rather than the lower boundary.

If it happens to get wave equality at 69 cents I'll take a sell thanks Rags, if that is permissable under the competition rules.
