Welcome to the "January Equinox to March Solstice Challenge". This Challenge will start on the week beginning January 2nd and run until March 30th over a period of 13 weeks. At the completion of that time an acknowledgement by way of the award of "(cyber) medals" of Gold, Silver and Bronze will be made to the top 3 achievers. Last place will also be acknowledged with the award of a "(cyber) wooden spoon". This Weekly Comp is aimed at the non-professional market entrant with $5,000 drawn off his mortgage or credit card, a standard trading account and a day job (probably also with a wife and dependent kids). For this stock tipping Challenge only a single entry will be allowed in any one trading week – being from Friday's close to the following Friday's close, unless original capital has been built up to $10,000 or more (see below). However, even for an entrant with an existing position, an LC (Long Continuous) or GTC (Good ‘Till Cancelled) entry posted before Friday’s close for the following week will not be rendered invalid by this rule. Entries posted will get the next available market open price for their entry, and Friday's close as the exit, unless otherwise specified (see below). The time-stamp of the posting will be used to determine which market open price is to be applied. An intra-week "Stop" request may be posted on any day. If posted on a trading day before the day's open it will receive that day's open price as the exit price. If posted after the open the exit price will be the next day's open price, that being the nearest available exit. Activating that "Stop" would close the entrant's position until the start of the following week, and no new position may be opened for the purposes of the Comp until then. A new pick may be nominated towards the end of the week in which the "Stop" was applied for the following week's trading. Only long positions may be nominated, with a unit price no lower than $0-05. On any day that a stock closes below $0-05 an automatic stop will be applied on that day, using the close price for that day as the exit price. No entries for warrants, exchange traded options or other derivative products will be accepted, only entries of ASX tickers for ordinary shares and ASX ticker "Gold". Nominations should be accompanied by a chart clearly showing the Technical Analysis used, with a short explanation of how that Technical Analysis is being applied - Please Note: failure to do this could result in disqualification of the entry. It is preferred that Incredible Charts software be used for chart postings. "Long Continuous" (LC) positions maybe be nominated prior to 4pm on Friday to maintain a new or existing position into the following week, or the following Comp. "Good 'Till Cancelled" (GTC) positions may also be nominated before Friday's close, and will be treated as an LC with an automatic renewal, within the duration of the current Comp. Carry-over of GTC and LC positions into a new Comp will require notification by way of a post to the weekly thread prior to the last Friday close of the current Comp. Any entrant who has not elected, by way of a post in the weekly thread, to use their "Stop", "Long Continuous" or "Good 'Till Cancelled" option, or has not had an automatic stop applied for a close below $0-05, will automatically receive Friday's close as their exit. An entrant who has a position that goes into a Trading Halt will be required to retain that position until the stock resumes trading. Prior to resumption of trading they may request a "Stop" at the price at which trading is resumed. Otherwise normal rules for closing or retaining an open position apply. Each entrant will be awarded a starting capital of $5,000 cyber-dollars and gains on positions will be added to that amount on a weekly basis, while losses will be subtracted from it. Anyone reaching a capital amount of $10,000 or more may split their cyber-capital into 2 positions, allocating 50% of their total capital to each if they so choose, or may continue to use their total capital on a single position. Short term weekly awards for First, Second, Third and Last place (spoon) will be acknowledged and recorded. The amount of gain or loss on the weekly position will be applied to the entrant's accumulated capital. Any new entrant to the challenge should feel free to ask for help regarding posting, as there are many here familiar with the conditions and methods used. Please place your tips and chart here in this thread.

Short answer is "no", though any LC or GTC can be changed to "L" at any time, so if this is done on a Friday the position becomes eligible for the normal Friday close exit. Any requests for an exit on a Friday get the benefit of the availability of this possible exit option. Otherwise the next available open would be used for the exit price. Hope that's clear. best p3t3

MACD Histogram above the zero line, MACD indicators heading north and moving apart. Supported by solid & consistent volume. Last weeks candle Price has just broken over the resistance line. TMF is below the zero line unfortunately as this is supported by the long wicks on the candles. To many red candles. However it has higher highs and higher lows over the last week with volume support. I may be exciting this trade early. Cheers

Elisabeth AZX L AZX is in the middle of a merger proposition with GGG - initial shareholder reaction to the proposal in November was negative. Since then AZX has completed a complex 1-2-3 reversal, breaking above point 2 and also closing well above the last Swing High of the downtrend after news on gold reserves increase. TMF daily is diverging slightly – in the weekly (not shown), TMF has just crossed strongly above 0. Happy week everyone!

ACL chart
I'm thinking its holding it upward move , its above all the important MA's Its holding inside the Dominant Candles with uptrend. Reduction in Volume while still holding its rally makes me think the next will be up when volume increases Good luck all , Regards Stampy.

Price resistance at .21 yet wick has broken through on previous occasion. Price has support at .19 Monthly chart not showing however a nice dojo formed from the previous month. Good Luck

Dolphin's chart for CVN...pls excuse the 'quality' as I'm having a few issues with my version of I.C. I'm simply 'banking' on the 'power' of the two dominant candles and what appears to be a continuation pattern/flag forming. We also have a secondary TAZ set-up in play but CCC need to get above 15c to confirm.
Cheers Dolphin

Too late to take JIN for tomorrows open? Delayed chart below with sp @ 92c. Up 11.957% for a $1.03 close today. Good chart n fundamentals. Management okay. Prefer JIN for a longer term hold, but should be able to handle the weekly comp.

Hi Jimmy... Couldn't agree more...i.e. the more competitors the better. However, there is another way of looking at the "return" of the silent ones(members) in the Comp'n...WE COULD BE VERY CLOSE TO A 'BULLISH' MARKET TOP! Dolphin P.S. Have you ever tried to 'outrun' an ehmu? Go Ehmu!

p3t3 exit MLD at the open :
Mixed signals as to whether trend has changed, with volume not supporting. But price level support has broken, with divergence on the stochastic, so bottom of the range could well see another test. Europe down overnight, and warning noises about China. The sidelines looks like a good place to be just right now.

I'm inclined to agree with you, and your opinion. (lol) Today, on this side of the Pacific, some kind of spastic credit contraction going on---but I can't figure it out. Dollar up, Euro up, china up, markets down, metals down, oil flat, materials down, EWA (australia etf) down---and maybe worst of all coal down. Guess I will close btu_ax at asap the open tomorrow (today my time). I was thinking the downdraft wouldn't start until Wednesday, but even the institutional investors index has started to sell off a bit today. all the best to all you tippy toe tipsters

Week 10, Tuesday :
A timely exit has seen Ehmu able to retain the top position. Surferdude and GameFisherman managed to find increases in their picks on a down day, so are worthy place-holders. OO7 has made a bright start with his late pick, into a tough market. Recent "new" entrant Poptop also managed to find a pick that went against the broad market trend. The broader picture :

Gamefisherman Here is my rationale for exiting this morning. That old saying 'timing is everything' is so true. Should have exited on yesterdays open/within 15-20mins due to high volumes where the stock was heavily being sold off. Wanted to post a copy of the NST 2 day 10 minute chart which clearly showed the picture, however due to not being able to work out how to do it have attached IC chart

A tough week for many of us, so results from MSparks, Ehmu and Elisabeth are admirable. Anybody who stayed out of the red has done well...I reckon.
